Zibuke OnCall respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
Zibuke OnCall is a unit within the Services Division of Zibuke Africa (Pty) Ltd. We operate the website zibukeoncall.co.za (the "Site") and provide appliance collection, repair, and delivery services to South African households.

2. What information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed).
- Appliance data: type, brand, model, and serial numbers of items you register.
- Payment data: chosen plan, billing frequency, amount, and the sales representative who assisted you.
- Booking data: collection address, preferred date and time, and a description of the issue.
- Career application data: name, email, phone, location, and three short essay responses (q1, q2, q3).
- Contact form data: name, email, phone, subject, and message body.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request URL) retained by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention.
- Aggregated, non-identifying analytics (page views, referrers) via Cloudflare's built-in Web Analytics if enabled.
3. Why we collect it (legal basis)
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract performance).
- To send service-related communications such as booking confirmations and repair status updates (contract performance).
- To process job applications and contact-form messages (your consent, which you may withdraw at any time).
- To comply with tax and accounting law (legal obligation).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access to your account (legitimate interest).
4. Where your data is stored
All customer, employee, and application data is stored in Cloudflare D1, a serverless SQLite database running on Cloudflare's global network. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA-256 (100,000 iterations, per-user salt) before being stored. Plaintext passwords are never written to disk or logged.
5. Who can see your data
Access is restricted to authorised Zibuke OnCall employees on a need-to-know basis:
- Sales representatives see the name, phone, and appliance details of customers they personally assist.
- Technicians and drivers see the booking details (address, appliance, fault description) required to perform the collection or repair.
- Sales managers, supervisors, and the logistics manager see aggregated team activity and accountability scores, not raw customer data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Cookies and local storage
The Site uses minimal browser storage:
- sessionStorage for the current login token and the cached user object. Cleared when you close the tab.
- localStorage as an offline cache for appliances, bookings, and payments so the Site still works without network. Cleared when you clear your browser data.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interest.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
To exercise any of these rights, email oncallappliance@zibukeafrica.co.za with the subject line "Privacy Request". We respond within 30 days.
8. How long we keep your data
- Account data: until you close your account, plus 5 years for tax purposes.
- Booking and payment records: 5 years from the date of the transaction.
- Career applications: 12 months from the date of submission.
- Accountability events: 24 months for active employees, then aggregated into anonymous team statistics.
9. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: HTTPS-only transport, hashed passwords, per-user authentication tokens, role-based access controls on the API, and Cloudflare's global edge security layer (DDoS protection, WAF). However, no system is 100% secure, and you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
10. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced with a banner on the Site at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
