Regional Sales Manager

Sell corporate maintenance contracts worth R20,000 or more per month to insurance companies, property managers, and retailers across South Africa. Earn a R32,000 monthly salary plus commission and annual bonuses. Prove yourself by generating R100,000 in monthly revenue during your Accountability Assessment.

The Role

You are the bridge between Zibuke OnCall's corporate maintenance capability and the corporations that need us. Your job is to find companies that maintain physical infrastructure, show them how our fixed monthly retainer eliminates their maintenance chaos, and close contracts worth R20,000 or more per month.

You will sell to insurance companies that process thousands of appliance claims. You will sell to property management companies that oversee hundreds of rental units. You will sell to retailers that need consistent warranty service across all their stores. You will sell to hotels, hospitals, and schools that cannot afford maintenance failures.

This is a remote role. You work from your car, from coffee shops, from client offices. You manage your own schedule. You set your own meetings. You close your own deals. The only thing that matters is results.

What You Earn

Component Amount Details
Monthly Salary R32,000 Paid on the 25th of every month
Commission Percentage of contract value Earned on every corporate contract you close
Annual Bonus Based on accountability score Bars earned above monthly targets accumulate for annual bonus
UIF Included Unemployment Insurance Fund contributions made by Zibuke OnCall
Medical Benefits Available Medical aid options available after passing assessment

Your total earnings depend on the contracts you close. The R32,000 salary is your base. Commission and bonuses are earned on top of that. A Regional Sales Manager who closes five corporate contracts at R20,000 each per month is generating R100,000 in revenue and earning significantly more than the base salary.

The Accountability Assessment

Before you are hired as a permanent employee, you must prove yourself through real work. This is how we know you belong here, and this is how you know the people around you earned their place too.

Your Target: R100,000 in Monthly Revenue

You must generate R100,000 per month in corporate contract revenue within your assessment period. This means closing and maintaining corporate contracts that collectively pay Zibuke OnCall R100,000 per month.

  • Five contracts at R20,000 per month each equals R100,000
  • Three contracts at R33,000 per month each equals R99,000 (passes)
  • Two contracts at R50,000 per month each equals R100,000
  • One contract at R100,000 per month equals R100,000

Any combination that reaches R100,000 in total monthly contract revenue passes the assessment. The contracts must be signed, active, and generating revenue. Verbal agreements and proposals in progress do not count.

Assessment Duration

You have three months to reach R100,000 in monthly revenue. This gives you enough time to prospect, meet decision makers, run site assessments, submit proposals, and close deals. Corporate sales cycles typically run four to eight weeks, so you need to start strong from day one.

What Happens If You Pass

You become a permanent Regional Sales Manager at Zibuke OnCall. You receive your R32,000 monthly salary, your commission on every contract you close, your annual bonus based on your accountability score bars, UIF contributions, and access to medical benefits. You continue selling and growing your portfolio of corporate clients.

What Happens If You Do Not Pass

If you do not reach R100,000 in monthly revenue within three months, your assessment is not renewed. We do not extend assessments. We do not offer second chances. This is not because we do not believe in you. It is because the corporate clients you would have signed are depending on us to deliver a service we promised. If you cannot sell the contracts, we cannot deliver the service, and the client suffers. We protect our clients by only hiring people who can bring them to us.

What You Need

Previous Experience

You must have previous experience selling to corporate accounts or previous work as a real estate agent. We are not looking for retail sales experience or call centre experience. We are looking for people who have sat across the table from a decision maker at a corporation, understood their problem, presented a solution, and closed a deal worth tens of thousands of rands per month.

If you have sold commercial property, enterprise software, business services, insurance products, or any other product or service to corporate buyers, you have the right experience. If you have worked as a real estate agent negotiating property deals, you have the right experience. If your sales experience is limited to consumer products or one off transactions, this role is not for you.

Your Own Reliable Car

This role is remote and on the road. You will drive to client meetings, site assessments, and industry events across your region. You need a reliable car that you own. We do not provide company vehicles. We do not reimburse car payments. We do contribute toward fuel costs for client visits, but the car must be yours and it must be reliable.

Other Requirements

  • You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident
  • You must have a valid South African driver's licence
  • You must have a smartphone with data for email, messaging, and video calls
  • You must be based in a major metro area with access to corporate clients
  • You must be comfortable working independently without daily supervision

Who You Sell To

Your target clients are corporations that maintain physical infrastructure and currently spend significant amounts on maintenance through fragmented, unpredictable vendor relationships. These are the sectors where the need is greatest and the contracts are largest.

Insurance Companies

Insurance companies process thousands of appliance claims every year. Each claim requires finding a repair vendor, negotiating a price, coordinating collection, tracking the repair, and processing the invoice. You show them how Zibuke OnCall becomes the single repair partner for all claims in a region. One partner, one invoice, predictable costs. Contract values range from R20,000 to R150,000 per month.

Property Management Companies

Property managers oversee portfolios of rental properties with constant plumbing, electrical, and appliance maintenance needs. They manage four to six separate vendors and spend ten to twenty hours every week coordinating maintenance. You show them how Zibuke OnCall handles all four trades under one contract. Contract values range from R20,000 to R200,000 per month.

Retailers

Retailers that sell appliances and electronics have warranty obligations to every customer. Most outsource warranty repairs to independent shops with inconsistent quality and variable pricing. You show them how Zibuke OnCall becomes the warranty service partner with consistent quality and predictable costs. Contract values range from R20,000 to R100,000 per month.

Hospitality, Healthcare, and Education

Hotels, hospitals, and schools maintain large facilities with critical maintenance needs. A broken air conditioner in a hotel room, a failed refrigerator in a hospital, or a burst geyser in a school creates immediate problems. You show them how Zibuke OnCall provides rapid response and preventive maintenance under a fixed monthly retainer. Contract values range from R20,000 to R300,000 per month.

How You Sell

Selling corporate maintenance contracts is not like selling a product off a shelf. It is a process that requires patience, empathy, and genuine understanding of the client's world.

Step One: Find the Right Prospect

You identify corporations that maintain physical assets across multiple sites, currently spend at least R15,000 per month on maintenance, experience unpredictable costs, and have a decision maker with authority to sign a monthly retainer contract. If a prospect does not meet these criteria, you do not sell to them.

Step Two: Research Before You Call

You spend thirty minutes researching the prospect before you make contact. You understand their business model, their customers, and their challenges. When you finally speak to the decision maker, you demonstrate within the first two minutes that you understand their industry and their specific problems.

Step Three: Listen More Than You Talk

Your first conversation is eighty percent listening and twenty percent talking. You ask about their current maintenance situation, their pain points, and their goals. You document every answer because these exact words become the foundation of your proposal.

Step Four: Visit Their Sites

You offer a free site assessment. You walk their facilities with their team. You document their assets. You identify risks they have overlooked. You demonstrate expertise that builds trust.

Step Five: Write a Proposal in Their Language

You translate every feature of our service into a benefit that matters to their business. You use their own words from the discovery conversation. You show them projected cost savings and measurable outcomes.

Step Six: Close by Talking About Outcomes

You focus on budget certainty, time savings, customer satisfaction, compliance, and peace of mind. You frame the decision in terms of the costs they are already incurring and the chaos they are already experiencing.

Step Seven: Follow Up with Patience

Most corporate deals close after three to five meaningful interactions. You follow up with value at every touchpoint. You never pressure. You build trust over time.

The Signalling Selling Approach

Signalling is a selling approach where you test if there is a need for maintenance problems at a potential corporate prospect by sending an email that offers a free comprehensive maintenance assessment report. This is done for free. If they agree, you request a template to use to collect information from the customer. This allows us to understand the customer and their needs better and to create the report for them.

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Identify the prospect — must meet the qualification criteria (10+ appliances or 5+ properties, currently spending R15K+/month on maintenance, at least 1 maintenance emergency in the past 6 months, decision maker with R20K+/month budget authority).
  2. Research the prospect before reaching out.
  3. Send the signalling email offering a free comprehensive maintenance assessment.
  4. If they agree, request permission to collect information using the assessment template.
  5. Collect the information from the customer.
  6. Send the collected information to the Zibuke OnCall technical team, who produce two documents: (a) the comprehensive maintenance assessment report for the customer, and (b) a set of customised educational emails that you send to the prospect to build trust.
  7. Send the assessment report to the customer and begin the educational email sequence.
  8. If the customer wants a quote on a maintenance contract, visit at least one site of the client and get managers at other sites to collect needed information virtually. You carry another template of all the information required about the customer.
  9. Once collected, the information is sent to the Zibuke OnCall technical team that writes a contract.
  10. Once done, the contract is sent to you, and you send it to the customer. You also get another document that will help you close that deal.

How Corporate Maintenance Contracts Work

A corporate maintenance contract is a fixed monthly retainer that covers all maintenance needs for a corporate customer across four service categories: Appliance Repair and Maintenance, Plumbing Maintenance and Repair, Electrical Maintenance and Repair, and Handyman and General Facility Maintenance. The Landscape Plan is a homeowner-only service and is not offered as part of corporate maintenance contracts.

  • Minimum contract: R20,000/month, 12-month commitment.
  • Mobile Service: technicians on specific days per week, within 24-hour response, minimum R20K/month.
  • Stationed Service: dedicated technician on-site during business hours, minimum R45K/month.

Retainer Tiers

  • Essentials (R20K-R35K): 1 service category, 2 days/week on-site, 24-hour response.
  • Professional (R35K-R75K): 2-3 categories, 3-5 days/week, 12-hour response.
  • Enterprise (R75K-R200K): all 4 categories, 5 days/week, 4-hour critical response.
  • Strategic Partnership (R200K+): fully customised, custom SLA.

⏱ The 3-Hour Emergency Response Guarantee: Onsite within 3 hours of first report throughout South Africa for any asset under the maintenance contract.

Contract terms: Monthly in advance, CPI-linked escalation capped at 8%, 90-day cancellation notice after initial 12 months, 5% credit per SLA breach capped at 20%/month.

Qualification Criteria for Corporate Prospects

Pursue a prospect only if ALL of these are met:

  • 10+ appliances or 5+ properties
  • Currently spending R15K+/month on maintenance
  • At least 1 maintenance emergency in the past 6 months
  • Decision maker with R20K+/month budget authority
  • Willing to commit to a 12-month minimum

Red flags — do NOT pursue:

  • Fewer than 5 units/sites
  • Currently spending less than R10K/month
  • No access to decision maker
  • Reactive mindset only
  • Immediate price focus
  • No business impact from maintenance failures

Objection Handling for Corporate Sales

  • "Too expensive" — Redirect to current spend on callout fees and emergency repairs.
  • "Already have staff" — Complement with specialist overflow and preventive maintenance.
  • "We will call when something breaks" — Reactive costs 40-60% more than preventive.
  • "Need to think about it" — Address specific concerns directly.
  • "Tried before and it did not work" — Address scope, response, and understanding gaps.
  • "Can we do a trial?" — Offer 12-month contract with 90-day review instead.

This Role Is For You If

  • You have sold to corporate decision makers before and you know how long it takes to close a deal worth R20,000 or more per month
  • You have worked as a real estate agent and you understand how to negotiate contracts, manage client relationships, and close deals under pressure
  • You own a reliable car and you are comfortable spending most of your working day on the road
  • You are self motivated and you do not need someone looking over your shoulder to stay productive
  • You handle rejection well and you understand that a no today can become a yes in six months
  • You want to earn more than R32,000 per month and you are willing to put in the work to close the contracts that generate commission and bonuses

This Role Is Not For You If

  • Your sales experience is limited to consumer products, retail, or call centre work
  • You have never sat across the table from a corporate decision maker and closed a deal
  • You do not own a reliable car or you are not comfortable working on the road
  • You need daily supervision, hand holding, or constant motivation from a manager
  • You are looking for a guaranteed income without having to prove yourself through results
  • You are not willing to accept that the Accountability Assessment has a clear pass or fail outcome with no extensions
