TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

TECHNICIAN
ASSESSMENT

Prove your technical capability through real repairs. Complete 20 jobs to secure your place as a Technician at Zibuke OnCall.

Why We Don't Interview

Traditional interviews measure one thing: how well you perform in a traditional interview. They reward confidence over competence, polish over performance, and charm over character. We have all seen the candidate who "interviewed brilliantly" only to struggle in the actual role. Interviews do not predict success. They predict interview skills.

Zibuke OnCall does not hire through interviews for the same reason we do not test pilots by asking them to describe flying. We test you by giving you the controls. The Accountability Assessment is our practical interview. You demonstrate your ability by doing the actual work.

🔧 The Benchmark: 20 Repairs

To pass the Accountability Assessment and secure your position as a Technician, you must complete 20 appliance repairs. This is not a quota. It is a character and capability benchmark. It proves:

  • Technical Skill: You can diagnose and fix real appliances — washing machines, fridges, ovens, TVs, and more.
  • Reliability: You show up when you say you will, complete the job, and follow up properly.
  • Care: You treat every customer's appliance as if it were your own. Quality workmanship, every time.
  • Accountability: You take ownership of your repairs. No shortcuts, no cutting corners. You stand behind your work.
  • Generosity: You approach every job wanting to help families get back to normal. This is the Zibuke way.

These five qualities cannot be assessed in a 30-minute interview. They can only be demonstrated through action. That is why the Accountability Assessment exists. Only those who are accountable can thrive at Zibuke OnCall.

📋 How the Assessment Works

1

Apply Below

Submit your application. We review for basic eligibility (relevant technical qualification or experience, South African residency, genuine interest in appliance repair).

2

Onboarding & Assessment

If accepted, you begin a commission-only assessment period. You complete real repair jobs under the supervision of our Technical Supervisor. You earn a commission on every completed repair. There is no basic salary during the assessment.

3

Complete 20 Repairs

Your target: 20 completed repairs within 3 months (90 days). Each repair must be logged with the customer's confirmation that the appliance is working. You have full access to parts, tools, and mentorship from our experienced technicians.

4

Pass & Permanent Position

When you complete your 20th repair, you are confirmed as a permanent Technician at Zibuke OnCall. You transition to a full salary with benefits. Your assessment period proves you have the skills and the accountability to deliver quality repairs.

⚠️ If You Don't Reach 20

If you do not complete 20 repairs within the assessment period, you will not pass the Accountability Assessment. You keep the commission you earned on every repair. This is a far better outcome than a traditional interview rejection with nothing to show for it.

Register for the Technician Assessment

This form is a registration to undergo the Accountability Assessment for the Technician position. You do not become an employee by submitting this form. You become an employee by passing the Accountability Assessment (completing 20 repairs within 3 months). Once you pass, you are confirmed as a permanent Technician.

APPLICATION SUBMITTED

We review every application personally. If selected, you will receive onboarding details within 7 working days. Your Accountability Assessment starts with your first day. Complete 20 repairs to secure your permanent position.
